Highly motivated data analyst with a strong background in software testing. With over five years of experience in the software industry, she has recently transitioned into the field of data analysis to expand her skill set and leverage her analytical expertise. Now looking to develop her skills within a remote role in a data-driven company that celebrates diversity.

My story

I graduated in 2008 with a first-class degree in Biological Sciences, then completed my MSc Environmental Technology at Imperial College London in 2009. Through temporary jobs, I gained experience in clinical research and pharmaceutical organisations, before embarking as a software tester. Starting at Carallon, I had no prior experience in software, but rose to the challenge of becoming the company’s only dedicated tester. Carallon gave me the opportunity to learn about software development at all stages of the lifecycle.

After five incredible years, I had to leave Carallon to relocate to Hampshire. My attempts at continuing my career were hampered by my daughter’s health issues, but this also gave me the incomparable experience of being a full-time mum – experience that should never be underestimated for its effectiveness in developing essential skills such as problem-solving, time management and resilience.

To facilitate my transition back into full-time employment, I decided to undertake six months of data analytics and Python training. Since first encountering big data during my degrees, my interest in data analysis has steadily grown along with my desire to uncover hidden insights within the data, which can be applied to solve real-world problems. I am now keen to take my skills to the next level and be a valuable member of a team, analysing, interpreting and visualising complex data sets to drive business strategy and decision-making.
